Memories and Mementoes
Kirra Galleries, Melbourne
2011
For this exhibition I have explored the ways that we attempt to capture memory through photography, letter writing and ephemera from travels abroad.
The boxes are designed to be reminiscent of black lacquered jewellery boxes, containing inserts of glass. Inside are examples of letters, French Cabinet Cards and photographs, all ways of recording the ‘physical presence’ or memory of a person.
